For the Love of the Game
At practice today, there were only ten Valpo kids playing frisbee at Eastgate. While we were scrimmaging, I layed out for a disc, landed wrong, and did something not great to my left shoulder. I couldn't really move it for about a minute, then I think something popped back into place, and it was fine (for the most part). Over the past three years, I have gotten more injuries from playing Frisbee than I did with ten years of soccer (the first couple of years of soccer don't really count since I was only seven). But throughout the last few years, I have pulled my hamstring, butt muscle, bruised up my legs, hurt my shoulders and of course the scratches from laying-out, but it is all worth it. Some days, I wonder why I got involved in this game, and the very next day I remember because it is such a wonderful game, where all are welcomed. I get to play this sport past college, there is a real community feel all over the world. Ultimate people are like no other people I have met, they are wonderful and easy going, you can't really be a jerk and play ultimate. Yes, some people are not great spirited, but over the whole sport, it is phenomenal.

Lori, I'd like you to know it has made my entire day to picture you grabbing your hindquarters in pain and when someone asks you what's wrong, a small tear would well up in your eye, you'd sniffle, and then quietly whisper, "I pulled my butt muscle."
what, no update about the fact that you have future for the next year of your life? Congrats again dear!
