Wow, the year is in two parts: Germany, America
Hmm, it is now officially 2009, and I am very excited for this calendar year. But let's look at last year (taken from my very handsome fiance's blog):
Most Focussed Period
End of August to mid October-physical therapy application
Most "No way! Is That Real?" Moment
to my lovely ring, after knowing the guy for less than 9 months
Lowest Point
I would say Jan. 1, 2008, so really, uphill from there
Most Pivotal Moment
Being honest, telling him that I wanted him to be more than just a great story
Most Humbling Experience
Listening to Bethany's stories from her times in Senegal, like when she fell off the back of a truck
Favourite Weekend
His birthday weekend. Berlin, the people, the weather, playing Ultimate on sand again, my boyfriend
Most Successful On-Pitch Moment

Best Feeling
Realizing the amazing friends I had made in Greifswald when they all showed up at the train station. Wow, I miss them.

Most Successful On-Pitch Moment
At Splatsch (or Splash), calling a play, then doing that exact play, which ended up in me scoring the point
Toughest Day In Work
umm...I worked this year? Possibly dealing with some campers at the science camp (but really, I am so grateful to have jobs that I truly enjoy(ed)
Most Satisfying Day In Work
When my role playing cards worked out with my favorite class (9a, in case you are wondering)
Longest Wait
5.5 months: Bristol Airport to Chicago O'Hare
Most I-Can't-Believe-I-Just-Got-Away-With-That Moment
Getting three extra days off from classes to visit Richard in England
Highest Point
the night before, being totally vulenerable and honest
This year has happened in stages: post New Year's, lots of Frisbee, but so uncertain where everything was going. In that time I researched the idea of Physical therapy, and then decied I was really happy being single. Then Richard walks into my life. We get to know each other, I am in love for the first time, make incredible friends in Greifswald, visit berlin every other weekend, then leave Germany. That was so hard, so much harder than I thought would be. Had you asked me just four months before that, it would have been fine. Then I get home, have to wear a brace and work a week at camp, observe physical therapists, love that, continue building my relationship with Richard, and reconnect with friends at home. Start community college, be enthralled with academia again, apply to physical therapy schools, have weekly melt downs that I won't get in, and wait and wait and wait. Richard arrives! We get engaged! I get sick, he gets sick, he leaves. Wait, file for his visa, wait, wait, and then, right at the end of the year, and acceptance letter from the University of Illinois at Chicago! But still, more waiting. I am ok with that.
